SHADY RABAB
Shady Rabab * 2022 Shady Rabab has now relocated to Canada.
Luxor Art Gallery’s dear friend, and an inspiration as an artist, musician, environmentalist, and entrepreneur, Shady Rabab is an invaluable member of the Luxor Art Community and a United Nations Champion of the Earth! He founded Rabab Luxor in 2017, an art collective to support artists in Upper Egypt, and is an accomplished musician with the band Malakout and album project Electro Zebala in collaboration with Daynassour, currently in development.
Rabab Music Factory offers handmade instruments created by Shady in his onsite tool shop, and community workshops for local kids and tourists alike.
An innovative musician, Shady began experimenting with homemade instruments using common household items and plastic trash. His efforts culminated with the creation of his “Garbage Conservatoire Band” featuring children from the nearby village, and supported by the United Nations Champion of the Earth prize which recognized Shady’s efforts to change the world offering environmental solutions through creativity and community building. —D.N.
