AHMED ABD AL MAQSOD
Ahmed Abd Al Maqsod Luxor artist Ahmed Abd Al Maqsod is a gentle man creating gentle artworks. His paintings and drawings are rendered with great tenderness toward each brushstroke, using subdued dreamy colors, and maintain a spontaneity in each composition that captures a moment in Ahmed’s day to day in Egyptian life, at the suq or in the street, waiting at a train station or looking out across the balconies and rooftops of Luxor. Delicate artworks, Ahmed feels passionately about each one, and they are truly an extension of himself. Ahmed studied painting at Helwan University and explores a variety of materials including oil and acrylic, water colors and gouache, pastels and ink. Egyptian customs and traditions are his main inspiration, honoring his heritage and his home. —D.N.
