JOSEPH HUNWICK

Joseph Hunwick جوزيف هونويك     The vivid black and white images of photographer Joseph Hunwick transports us back in time, not just several decades into the past, but back through the centuries, capturing the soul of Egypt’s rural and noble people as they have always been, and still exist today in the remote corners of majestic village life. Visual poetry, Joseph's photographs stay with you as a memory, familiar and ethereal. Working between the UK, Barcelona, and Spain, and traveling worldwide, Joseph works as a professional photographer for numerous clients and publications including Condé Nast Traveler, New York Times, and Thames & Hudson. His photography in the book The Hidden Treasures of Timbuktu record “the faded majesty of the city and the dignity and warmth of its modern-day inhabitants.” It is an honor to share Joseph’s work through Luxor Art Gallery and bring his work “home”. —D.N.
