Mohamed Ibrahim Inspired by stone itself, and deeply influenced by his heritage of ancient Egyptian Pharaonic art, Mohamed Ibrahim sculptures are sensitive, thoughtful artworks, contemplating shapes and forms, and the way light and shadows contribute to the final entity he has created. Without formal art school or training, he lives surrounded by inspiration in the majestic mountains and rock formations of Luxor’s west bank, with its ancient temples and sculptures embedded in the landscape. Stone is his language, conveying emotions and calm meditations. —D.N.
